Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale (GCBS)
Discover the line between reality and fiction
The Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale (GCBS) was designed for use in research on conspiracy theories. Traditional methods often involve questions about specific conspiracy theories, while the GCBS was developed to address the limitations of this approach. The scale aims to measure the underlying assumptions that drive such beliefs through broader questions. The GCBS provides an overall score as well as scores across five distinct dimensions. It was created in 2013 by Robert Brotherton, Christopher C. French, and Alan D. Pickering at Goldsmiths, University of London.
The GCBS consists of 15 questions. For each question, you are required to indicate how much you agree with a given statement.
